Addy's Butchers now buys all animals live, processing them through Norman Bramhalls & Son, whose abattoir is within a matter of miles from the shop, again highlighting the "let's keep it local" emphasis. This also minimises the stress on animals. Traceability is all-important. Brindon, who pays regular visits to his local suppliers, explains: "Sourcing our meat direct from the farm gives us a much greater degree of hands-on control over the whole process. At the end of the day, our customers benefit by being able to buy only the very best quality local meat products."

Addy's Butchers also buys beef, pork and sheep "champions" at high-profile auction mart shows in the region, before preparing them for customer consumption. Another prime example that "only the best will suffice!."
